Dr. Kenneth Oates is fellowship-trained and board-certified in orthopedic surgery and holds a subspecialty certificate in orthopedic sports medicine. He specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical care of knee, shoulder, and sports-related injuries and conditions. His surgical expertise includes arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery as well as total joint replacement. Dr. Oates uses the most current medical technologies and works closely with his patients to get them back to their favorite activities.

Dr. Oates received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Oates went on to complete his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Following his post-graduate medical training, he received fellowship training in sports medicine and knee and shoulder reconstruction at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

Dr. Oates is active in the outdoors as a skier, bike rider, and hiker, and is also involved in martial arts.
